I predicted a Stormers vs Crusaders final at Newlands at the start of the year in a fantasy tipping game. For that to happen though the Stormers need to move top of the log or the Crusaders need to move down but with a 2 point margin over those below them... well, we are on a collision course to meet in the semi's. For me this season comes down to; over-achievers; Brumbies - I don't think many saw them ending top of Aus Chiefs - a good team but I for one am surprised that they have edged out no only the Crusaders and Blues for top NZ spot but top spot overall considering the mountain they had to climb Hurricanes - with a host of top players leaving they like the Bulls have done well to be in with a shot at the play-offs Bulls - had a suspicion they were going to fare better than most thought but I was certain they were going to miss out and end 7th/8th underachievers; Blues!!! - wow. just a terrible season - I and many with me were billing them for top spot Reds - Been going wel recently but struggled without Cooper and Ioane early on and Genia having a bit of a hang-over early season Sharks - a good team and most SA pundits were billing them for a top of conference finish. Just dropped a few games they should really have put away. Still likely to make the play-offs and look dangerous if they can just get some consistency. Waratahs - ending below the Cheetahs in a relatively easy Aus conference.... not a job well done
