I think the blues will win because their backline looks to be better balanced and this game is simply MUST WIN.

Lose and they can pretty much kiss their season goodbye get a new coach and start trying to figure out how to turn everything around in 2013

It's very hard to call this - both teams love losing at the moment.
I'm hoping for a good game to watch, regardless of the outcome, as both can play a great brand of rugby when they want to.

Edit:
Just seen the teams - that's a great 10/12/15 for the Rebels. Good to see Johannsen still in the mix as well.
It's also a very strong Blues side, with a lot of All Blacks in the side. If they hit their stride then they could put a lot past the Rebels.
Whether that'll happen though....

probably the best team the rebels have put on the paddock this season.. well on paper anyway. i think cooper vuna's suspension could be a blessing in disguise for the rebels.

I think the Rebels have a slight advantage at home

Lachie Munro is a classic case of how being a great goalkicker can take you far in rugby. He is rubbish on attack and no better on defense. Lam should just let Anscombe kick and put Parkes on the wing.

Blake vs. Woodcock and O'Connor vs Nonu should be interesting.

TO me, it's the 1st-five that gets these two error-prone teams out of situations is key.

Sadly - I have a bad feeling The Blues will lose this one.
Pretty much.

Also, this is a Thursday night game?

I think the blues will win because their backline looks to be better balanced and this game is simply MUST WIN.

Either way, I think we need a new coach anyway.

Aah, I remember years and years ago when he was touted along with Stephen Brett to be the next best talent at 10. lol

Why am I even considering a Rebels win for my Superbru picks here? Tough start to the season for the Blues and they'll probably struggle to get to the play-offs at this stage. Then again every team goes through these off years (except the Crusaders) and most make the turn at some stage. I just hope they can sort their culture/mentality out. It starts with the staff though; whoever's in charge there need to step up or step out.

How weird is it that you have to mention the Blues and a battle for BOTTOM of the table clash??? has that ever happen before??

even more weird is that there is no South African team taking part in this battle...

But with that said, a lot can still happen over the coming weeks.

Blues to win this one IMO...

You can't have such a decent squad under perform week after week. Eventually they will start playing like they can, I have a feeling the Blues may win by a fair margin here, it's probably to late for them to get a play-off spot, especially considering they still have a ton of difficult games remaining but I can't see them being bottom feeders for the whole season.

Im Not confident about the blues and think the rebels might win. Especially with lachie Munro playing. How did he ever get a professional contract he's about as useful as nipples on a breastplate, he's also a shocking player. He let quad cooper beat him in a one on one and lets in loads of tries

Wow how coincidental you say this then the Blues chairman resigns http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/super-rugby/6701653/Blues-board-chairman-Greg-Muir-resigns
