Personally I think Rugby Challenge 2006 will be better from a pick up and play perspective. WCR was very accessable from almost anyone with two thumbs and an index finger. Even my little brother could play it. (And if you know him, you would see thats quite an accomplishment.) But I think it will have a lot more depth this time, adn from all (credible) accounts seems to be solid fun rather than a quick bash with 0 lastability.
Rugby 2006 seems to have improved aswell which is good for the simulation side of things. But unless they have the AI sorted this time then I doubt this will last much longer than Rugby 2005 did for me. Rugby 2005 had so many little annoyances (mainly caused by AI and shoddy animations) that prevented it from being a longlaster.
Rugby is a very tough sport to convert to videogame form, but so far I have been impressed with both efforts so far....Then again, I always am to start off...
