Aaron Rai ends up playing so well and in such a different style to the other contenders that he will put any conversation about course set up to bed.

What a win and fair play to him, ended a 107 year drought for England in the PGA championship and seems like one of the best people you could ever meet. Working class, 1st generation Indian, his Dad worked long hours so he could follow his dreams, and he remains very humble and entirely focused on his family and career. He'll be a good addition to Europe's Ryder Cup team also, seems like a dream fit for team play.

A notification just popped up on my phone today that the Happy Gilmore golfer just did a Happy Gilmore and hit a drive over 400 yards. Impressive.

Incredibly fun finish here. This has been great to watch. Fox has it in his hands on the course, needs a birdie to win. Young finished two hours ago with the best score of the day to set the target, very rare that a target lasts that long.

Foxy wins. Overcame one of the worst breaks I've seen at an open and was hugely unlucky to hit a bunker on 17 too.

Class act, not someone I thought would win a major but he's always shown massive guts in contention and didn't take a step back today (apart from when forced to by the aforementioned bad break).

I don't think calling up a president of a country younger than the R&A was ever going to do much. The fact said president literally has a book written about his golf cheating exploits probably should have made him refrain from putting in the call.

Rory hates this clown, I'd love to hear his non-polished opinion of him some day.

Pretty much yeah, he feels like he's a victim ever since going to LIV (not alone in that respect with LIV golfers).

Can't go stomping like that in heavy rough and he knows it. To his credit, this is his first brush with the rules that I can remember so I think it could have just been a careless moment in a stressful spot but it doesn't really matter because the reaction was petulant.

It's a shame the competition is an Open with fair qualification opportunities for all. If it was Augusta he could just get barred.
