I agree with your picks to be right up there, but hope that one of the two Canadians can have a good few days. Weir has never done very well at the British Open, but with the way that our new Canadian, Stephen Ames, has been playing lately I would pick him as a darkhorse.

Is this the same Stephen Ames who used to play for Trinidad and Tobago?

Woods doesn't seem to be under as much pressure as in previous majors so he may come good. Wouldn't dismiss Harrington either.

Lots of good British AND IRISH players. Harrington, Clarke, Casey, Price, Poulter, Evans, Monty, Westwood, Donald...time for one of them to win a major.

Michael Cambell is a good bet. He is on good form at the moment.

NB. Check out Poults' trousers!

Ya, he has been living in Canada, married to a Canadian for the past 5-6 years and got his Canadian citizenship a couple of months ago. The sportscasts in Canada had been referring to him as "Calgary resident, Stephen Ames", but now he is called "Canadian, Stephan Ames"

Lots of good British players. Harrington, Clarke,
British???

Pretty shite start for Harrington +5 with a 76, Clarke's just finished -2 with a 69. Not a bad few weeks for Levet, winning the Scottish open to qualify and shooting 66 in the first round.

"Faulter like Poulter" pfft.

+1 at the halfway stage. 72 in very tough conditions today. He's poised to make a move. Looking forward to his weekend wardrobe

I'm thinking Red/White +4s tomorrow with a strong hint of Arsenal.

Looking like Els tournament if he holds it together. Monty seems fairly bullish about his chances, trying to draw parallels with Justin Leonard who won from 5 shots back. Clutching at straws methinks.
