Thats the top 50 + some selected others.

Come on Poults

http://www.therugbyforum.com/index.php?showtopic=254

Campbell's odds are quite decent, considering his recent form and the fact that he finished wuite highly 10 years ago on the same course, Cabrera on the same odds is a fairly decent bet as well, been in decent form as well.

Having said that the Americans have dominated the British Open in recent times, winning 8/10 championships. Mickleson hasn't really delivered over here, don't think Woods has the game to stay out of the bunkers for the 4 days this time, David Toms is a good shout as is Davis Love if he gets it together.

Can't see a European winner unfortunately, Garcia and Harrington have failed to live up to expectations, the likes of Monty and Jimenez are not major contenders and the up and coming players like Donald, Dougherty haven't quite made that step up, but are close.

After the last two tournaments it is bloody difficult to predict the winner.

If the weather is kind, Woods would be the clear favourite, but it is more than likely to be very windy and rainy on at least one day, and whoever manages the conditions well will be in a good position.

Immelman is one to look out for, whilst Casey, Howell and of course Poults are capable of being in the top few.

Casey's been having a bit of a mare recently, so it would certainly take a dramatic turnaround in form for him to even make the cut.

Maybe the time has come for Vijay Singh to win the Open, if he can sort his putting out he'll be well in contention come Sunday.

Pádraig Harrington has had to pull out of the British Open after his father Paddy finally died from cancer of the oesophagus, he'd been close to death since before the masters so it's just been a matter of time, shame for Harrington with the timing but some things are more important.

I've placed each way bets on the following: (payout at 1/4 odds for top 6)

- Woods
- Donald
- Poulter
- Cabrera
- Immelman

I got 2 Virtual Cookies on either VJ or Tiger to win it, Michael Campbell was a fluke, you see those types of things in sports like Tennis and Golf all the time, ecspecially Golf... anyone remember Craig Perks? Exactly.

Heres the top few after day 1
