Not sure where to put this thread so thought here best.

Seeing as Tomas Francis was nearly picked in the 6N squad, and has apparently been training with the Welsh team. Can I have the opinion of someone who's seen him play frequently? Would like to know a bit more about him

Well the first thing you should know is that he is English! Not Welsh


More seriously though, he seems a great young player, needs to shed a few kilos which might affect his scrummaging though.

Very big lad, is shedding the pounds, and doing a very good job for a 22 year old tighthead.

However, he's definitely behind Cole, Wilson, Thomas and Brookes, and all of those could easily be available for 2023 (some beyond).

He's potentially behind (or could well be by the time he gets ahead of others), Sinckler, Cooper-Woolley, Wilson and Longbottom.

Whereas he'd likely already be close to 2nd choice for Wales, and a likely shoe-in for a spot in the RWC later this year. Can't blame him for using his granny. Exeter will be a bit annoyed though, since he'll likely be off to Wales for a nice dual contract and plenty of enforced rest.
