Just a thread dedicated to transfer talk/ discussion

Will there be any major signings in the off-season? Will Man City's presence in the Champions League allow them to attract players of even greater quality?

On a personal note, my condolences to the supporters of the Lithuanian State Circus, for their timely signing of Zander "Hee Haw" Diamond

Hopefully Craig Brown can make a couple of quality signings for the Dons, we really need some good signings to put some bums on seats

Aberdeen announce their first summer signing, that of former Lens, Derby & Preston North End defender Youl Mawéné

It would be awesome to hear Pittrodie singing that name to the tune of 'Give me hope Jonnah' B)

Out of Contract Aston Villa keeper Brad Friedel has signed a two year contract with Tottenham Hotspur, the 40-year old holds the record for most consecutive games in (as far as I am aware) English football history, across all leagues.

Norwich have failed in a bid to sign Scotland and Leeds player Robert Snodgrass for £3.5 million. The promoted club have already secured the services of James Vaughan fae Everton

It seems as though Man United have just abouit wrapped up the transfer of Aston Villa's Ashley Young, who is away on holiday or something

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11667_6979494,00.html

Man United are also in advanced talks with Blackburn youngster Phil Jones

Another big story is that of young (17) Southhampton winger, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is being pursued by Arsenal and Man United mainly. Southhampton want £ 15 million.

Arsenal are now also looking good to sign Gervinho, Lille's Ivorian striker, as well as Eden Hazard in a double swoop of Lille. Two great players from what I've seen, looking forward to seeing them at the Emirates, although I really don't rate Oxlade Chamberlain from what I've seen of him. Also, we really need a good Centre-Back to partner Vermaelen, and Samba looks like being the best option at the moment, and will also cost under the £10 million mark which gives an advantage over buying Cahill, who is valued at closer to £20 million, and in my opinion isn't better than Samba at all.

Wolves have just completed the £5m move for Jaime O'Hara ... real bargain for us.

I thought you supported Man U?

Argh, only on my phone, lack the patience to update this thing with relevant news articles.
Okay off the top of my heid.

Ahsley Young moves from Aston Villa to Manchester United, signing a 5 year contract. The fee is believed to be in a region of £15 million.

Aleixis Sanchez might be moving to Barcelona from Udinese, would be a shame, always one of the first few players I buy when playing football management games.

Will need to check the news...

Nah man a Wolves fan.

Sunderland are linked with everyman and his dog again this transfer window.

Sunderland about to complete a £9m move for Ipswich striker Connor Wickham - amazing amount of money for a young striker who has not scored much
Sunderland reported £8m bid accepted for Birmingham's Craig Gardner - Silly money
De Gea is signing with Man Utd for close to £19m in the next couple of days.

I can't believe Wickham is going for more money than Aberdeen's entire squad & transfer budget :(

Scotland
Speaking of Aberdeen, they have re-signed Chris Clark, have completed the loan signing of Man City Columbian international goal keeper David Gonzalez Giraldo *
There is also the impending signing of Isaac Osbourne, and compensation of £400k has been agreed with Derby for their signing of Chris Maguire

Hibs have signed Gary O' Connor, Michael Higdon moves from St. Mirren to Mutherwell, Rangers are dragging their heels with signing Goodwillie

Europe

Juventus are ramping up efforts to sign Athletico Madrid and Argentine star Sergio Aguero

* I realize that no-one actually cares about the AFC related transfers here, but I do B)

Wickham is silly money, I reckon he will flop but there we are.

Really Juventus after Aguero, suprised that a Premiership club are not after him.

David Trezeguet - Hercules (Spa) to Napoli (Ita) this would be a great signing.
Erik Lamela - River Plate (Arg) to Napoli (Ita) - looks set after River's shock relegation.

Lets see...

Britain

Liverpool have completed the signing of Blackpool's midfield playmaker Charlie Adam. The 25-year old Scot moves in a deal rumoured to be around the region of £6-7 million

South African and Supersport United defender Morgan Gould is on trial at Crystal Palace, with a transfer to the value of £500, 000 in the balance.

Former Hibs striker Derek Riordan has ended the speculation as to his future, it lies not only outside Scotland, but outside of Europe. To ** drum roll **- China?

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11781_7024457,00.html

The Continent

Bayer Leverkusen coach doesn't wish to sell Chilean defender Aturo Vidal to another German club, with his former boss Jupp Heynckes now at the Bayern Munich helm, keen to sign him.
This article also shows apparent interest from Arsenal.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11881_7027801,00.html

Adrian Mutu has completed a move to fellow Italian side Cesena. The disgraced former Chelsea player has spent the last 5 years at Florentina

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,19228_7002565,00.html

20-year old Barcelona forward Bojan Krikc (I won't even pretend to know how to spell it) is set to move to Roma. Despite showing early promise in his late teens, behind the star players of Barcelona's first choice attackers, the youngster has not had a lot of game time.

*Cough* Fiorentina *Cough*

Okay, fits new?

After having rejected an initial bid, Manchester City have apparently agreed terms with Brazillian club Corinthians for the sale of want-away striker and caption, Carloz Tevez.
The fee is believed to be in the region of £40 million, around half of Corinthians annual T.V. generated income.
It seems as though the wealth is flowing back to Brazil/ Argies faster than I thought, sure they get a lot of money from transfer to Europe, but crikey, there are some top players there now, established players.

And Aberdeen have signed Icelandic international Kari Arnason, who can play both in defence and midfield. Also quiet a big unit.
