Try or No Try?

Last week I scored a really strange try in a live match during practice. It was never called back so I assumed it counted but I'm skeptical the more I think about it.

Our side was behind the 22, with possession. I was playing #11, The backs call was kick and chase. Our fly-half kicked towards their winger and I chased after him. I knew I had enough time to either let him get their first or let the ball bounce, jump for it, and take off.

The ball did bounce in front of the opposing wing. It would've bounced over him but he reached up above his head and caught the ball. Immediately after it hit his hands I jumped in front of him, popped the ball out of his hands above his head, caught it behind him and scored.

Obviously the first thought was, no forward pass. But there was no whistle, and I didn't pass it to myself, it was more of a pop. I'll assume it's a forward pass unless someone tells me different. One of the tastier tries I've scored if it counts though.

i think that's fine, you've basically stripped the ball, juggled and regathered
