He does however struggle against physical opensides. He always has done and always will. It didn't help that there wasn't much suport for him out there, but Wales almost always loose the breakdown battle against the SANZAR nations. With Paul James going backwards so quickly, there was no way Gethin could do anything. But that doesn't change the fact that he took a pummelling (physically). That hindered his performance in the loose.
