The yellow cards are being given out like mad in the Top 14 this season.

37 Yellow Cards and 1 Red Card so far in 14 matches.

The first round broke the record for most cards in a round with 17 yellows. Then that record was broken again with 20 yellows and 1 red (which was for a second yellow) the next weekend.

Despite this mega-sin-binning going on in France, there is still yet to be a citing.

Who do you reckon will be the first player to get a ban this season in France?

What do you think the reason for the ridiculous amount of cards being shown is? Perhaps because of the indiscipline of the players? Bad standard of referring? Or a mixture of both?

You have to remember the standard of "reffing" (apart from Poite) is quite poor in the Top 14 and they are under pressure to try and show they are improving. Consequently, they issue cards to make themselves feel better and also at times where decent and good refs will control the game and the players in a better and more professional manner!
