[QUOTE="nickdnz, post: 455740, member: 38640"] Dude...Your idea lacks any substance and understanding of how a tornement is run. Let's say we did you idea. Hold a PI Cup style tornement with out Japan, based in New Zealand. We'll presume you are right, and matches averaage 45,000 people consistantly (something it never does at ITM Cup and SupeRugby level), for ticket prices at $25, and it makes a millions dollar per game. Who's paying for Eden Park? If it is held on a weekend it can't be during the ITM Cup or SupeRugby competition. Most importantly, how are players who are playing in France going to be released during one of the IRB test release times? Fiji can't even field half of thier best players because of NH contracts once every four years, what makes you think PI nations will be able to field anything but a "B" team? Why exclude Japan when they are trying to develop as well. I feel you're looking in the wrong direction for PI development. They need more tests against tier 1 nations during the EoYT's and more involvment from the IRB and Players Union in getting players released from their clubs during test series without endangering their employment.
