In the present Rugby Union, HO is no2 and PRs are no1 and no3. Why? Why isn't HO no1? Very interesting.

Once upon a time, the fullbacks wore no. 1 and loosehead props wore 15. Except at the clubs where they used letters instead (eg. Leicester).
