Title explains it all really; who do you think deserves, and should get the start at 10 for England in the 2011 RWC and why?

I'm sure it's no mystery as to which side I favour.

Wilko.

Flood and Hodgson simple dont have the head for the game. Any sort of pressure and they will buckle.

There isnt actually a choice really.

I totally agree, haven't heard a good argument for Flood's inclusion yet barring injury to Jonny of course. He's still in my books one of the top five players in the world on any given day, and the best when he's at his best.

I dunno Flood makes a lot of half breaks which set up a lot of the "amazing" Ashtons tries. Can't see Wilko making those.

Sorry he's good but hasn't been near that for a few years. He wouldn't be in my top 10 but neithe would Flood.

Wilkinson
Hodgson
Flood

For me

(I'd probably have Hodgson first if he'd played more than 10mins for England, as his previous outings in an England shirt in the past season or two have been promising and he engages the backs better than Wilko and kicks better than Flood - defence is on par with Flood as well, despite what people who's heads are stuck in 2008 will have you believe)

Wilko all the way. He's a machine, wind him up and let him go, never gives up, never lets you down!

Depends on the type of game they are playing. If their playing a team like France, Australia or Wales where they need to score tries, I'd have Flood.
If they're playing a team like N.Z, S.A or Argentina where they just need points whenever they can get them while at the same time pinning the teams back, I'd have Wilkinson.
If they're playing Ireland which is a team that won't come back from 2-3 early tries the player who suits the role is Flood but I'd have Wilkinson because Flood is scared of Ireland. :D

Interesting that you say Flood over Wilkinson against Wales... especially when Wilkinson pretty much won them the game in Twickenham the other day, setting up one try and slotting 2 decisive drop goals, then Flood wasnt great in the next game in Cardiff. Their original gameplan wasnt going great thanks to a magnificent Welsh defence, but Flood just didn't seem to want to stray from the gameplan at all, so England didn't score a try.

Sorry, I was away when those matches were being played and didn't see them, I was basing the statement on the way Wales had played in the 6N.

I think its important to remember it was the first game of the season for Flood. I would pair them at 10 and 12 but I think its possibly a bit late for that now.

Wilkinson, because he has a better game management
Wilkinson, because he has knows when and where the ball has to go
Wilkinson, because he has amazing passing skill
Wilkinson, because when he's defending, you know that the area around him is safe
Wilkinson, because he can score drop goals like no one else
Wilkinson, because he can make amazing offensive kicks
Wilkinson, because when he's kicking penalty, he is (almost) always hitting the target
Wilkinson, because he sometimes has this spark of genius that make him do things that only him can do
Wilkinson, because he's the nicest guy on and off the pitch (unlike players like Hartley or Ashton who simply can't keep their mouth shut).

Wilkinson, because it is his last world cup, because he has done so much for England, and he's playing so well with Toulon, he deserves this n10 jersey.

Ah that's fair enough! Personally I think England have a tidy combination, and when the game isn't quite going well for one they can bring on the other. Bit like Wales have done with Jones and Hook, and Ireland have done with O'Gara and Sexton.

I just think they need to switch them sooner... start with flood, but if not working, pull Wilko in after the half or close to 35 mins to play and let him do work with the boot.

I wouldn't be adverse to it (though Ashton's a 14 :p )

Think that last time Flood played 12 was Six Nations 2010 vs Wales, wasn't it? He did alright then, I think

9. Youngs
10. Wilkinson
11. Cueto/Sharples
12. Flood
13. Tuilagi
14. Ashton
15. Foden

20. Simpson
21. Flutey/Hodgson
22. Sharples/Armitage

Wouldn't mind seeing that vs Ireland

Alright I'm going to sound like a huge cock but I'm from Canada so what the hell. What's the difference between 11 and 14?
