World In Union

Interesting, i only saw the AB's once in the video, made a real effort to show a wide range of teams, a lot of them second or third teir too. It must have been tempting to show the big guns alot more but have a very neutral and inclusive video :)

The World in Union is an anthem that was first commissioned by the IRB in 1991 to be used for the Rugby World Cup in that year. It was performed by Dame Kiri TeKaniwa before the opening match (England v Australia) at Twickenham

This is the "original" version

Performances at other RWCs have been by...

1995: Ladysmith Black Mambazo
1999: Shirley Bassey and Bryn Terfel
2003: United_Colours of Sound
2007: All Stars

At the opening ceremony of the 2011 RWC, the anthem will be sung by New Zealand's Hayley Westenra

NOTE:
The melody is a direct steal from one of the seven movements of Gustav Holst's orchestral suite "The Planets" (Opus 32) written circa 1914

Listen from 2:53 onwards

In 1921, Holst adapted this piece to create the British (and adopted American) patriotic anthem "I Vow to Thee My Country" (lyrics from a poem of the same name by Sir Cecil Spring-Rice

Just an opinion, wee bit gay, a bit slow and ponderous. I got too bored to listen to all of it.
Rammstein? hell, why not.
