He plays the part of pantomime villain, and... gets treated like a pantomime villain.

I've not seen anything anywhere saying that he's not a really good player with (hopefully) a fantastic career ahead of him, and already possessing some very strong highlights (and I don't mean his hair).

Mind you, I was accused of unreasonably hating him because I called him a floppy-haired, posh-schoolboy, arrogant-Englishman that the Aussies will REALLY hate - which... yeah...
Has he become the new (much more skillfull) Farrell? So the noticing a slight flaw in his game, or on-pitch demeanor means that think he should be banned for life?
Is this the same cognitive dissonance that translates "Genocide is a bad thing" as "Israel should be wiped off the map and jews are barely even human"?
Who is asking for who to be banned?

Jeez hes a cocky young lad whos playing very well in his first season of top flight rugby. I love that he's exuberant..as said above we've been looking for a few players who actually take it to the opposition for a change. Everyone rants and lords about POM for Ireland...
And he is playing well...hitting high tackle rates, turnovers, making breaks. Hes all action. Long may it continue and improve. And yes he will suffer a few slumps but thats expected.

Why are we allowed to joke about Lowe being a prat but Pollock is off limits?
I think this boils down to who you support.

When a player is your own you love them for their attitude but when its against you we tend to dislike them.

Ie Pollock loved, POM and Lowe hated. But that shoudnt be without appreciating what POM and Lowe actually bring to that Ireland side...Lowe in particular is one of their key critical players.

On a serious note though...talking rugby again...i guess we'll be sticking with the double 7 plan for a while. Not sure CCS, or Ted Hill are as good at 6 as our crop of 7's are as a 7.

Well I still remember the dark days when England didn't have any out and out 7s after Neil Back retired so having a few knocking about is a good thing.

Personally still think that if all of Itoje, Martin and Chessum are fit and in form then we’ll see 4. Itoje 5. Martin 6. Chessum. Whether those 3 ever actually will all be fit and in form at the same time is a different matter.

Exactly … I haven’t seen any ‘hate’. I referred to him as a ‘cocky barsteward’. I imagine he’d probably agree. @Which Tyler referred to him as a ‘pantomime villain’.

I’d argue that he is a provocative character. I see some of his behaviour as unnecessary. It doesn’t mean I ‘hate’ him or don’t rate him as a rugby player.
