So far with the introduction of HB's Rugby 2012, we've seen a LOT of trolls, WUM's and people with generally **** attitudes patrolling the forums like they own the joint. I believe we're at serious risk of developing distances between those who enjoy sharing opinions through educated discussion (ourselves) and having a sort of "trolling" lower class who just hurl **** at one another!

What do we do!

They get away with a lot of it on other forums where admins, moderators & long standing members don't care enough to do anything about it and are a little too PC to speak back to them or do anything of any real consequence. I'm all for vigorous debate as it shows people care about the issue, but there are limits to what we'll accept around these here parts.

I think I know who you mean as being the major disturbance and he's 1 comment away from goodbye forever. Some of the others are starting to come around, because to be fair to them they are used to different online communities to this.

One things for sure, we value our long standing regular posting members and will try to keep a close eye on the trolls and WUM. I like to think people can come to TRF to (mostly) get away from the rest of the internet rubbish out there.

CAI, I appreciate the response. I think you're dead right in that a lot of other online communities are very different to this one and that's probably why the disparities are occurring.
I am still sick of seeing people being called "Douches" and "Muppets" though!
With the added exposure of course is going to come greater moderating responsibility, and I sure feel for you guys. Suspensions and Bannings weren't commonplace back in the day but perhaps you have little choice anymore!

Either way, TRF is going to continue to become a rugby powerhouse!

Maybe in applying for registration to the forum a validated address has to be given, that way a discrete letter with anthrax can be distributed to unruly members..

No different to all the Irish glory hunters appearing after last years Six Nations, to be fair. Most of them were WUMs & idiots also.

For what it's worth a few decent members hung around. The same will happen with 2012.

And if anyone gets to Los Lover levels of tosspottery, they'll get smacked with a 24lb BanHammer.

Not atall worried. The mods here do a great job, nothing slips through their fingers, which means people trying to cause trouble, soon dissapear. I've noticed we've gained some very good new posters since HB studio's Rugby 2012 joined. Of course, there's been a few idiots, but not all too bad. This place will never turn into a 606 kinda forum, which is great, as I bloody hate places like that.
