New Posts Functionality

Something is up with the "New Posts" link.

Firstly, there rarely seem to be new posts in the list even though I can see posts in the sidebar that I know I haven't read.

Secondly, when there are no new posts, I get this message...

You may search for posts updated during the previous 24 hours, here

and when I click on "here", I get this message...

[TEXTAREA]This forum requires that you wait 30 seconds between searches. Please try again in 30 seconds.[/TEXTAREA]

I presume that if I go back and try it all again, and wait 30 seconds between checking for New Posts and clicking "here", it will probably work.

However, for what its worth, IMO having a 30 second delay between searches is pointless, but even removing that doesn't explain why the "New Posts" link doesn't seem to work properly.

The reason for the 30 second delay is down to the load on the server if we were to reduce it we could find the system crashing. As for the new posts, I will have a look into it for you.

The new posts search only works if you have cookies enabled, I think. It works fine for me.

Apropos nothing.....wondered how time is assigned to the posts on the website as, being in France, my posts are given a time one hour ahead of actual French time?

Just checked and am shown in the Brussels time zone at GMT+1 which is correct I believe............hasten to add that it is not important or anything!!
