Please World Rugby, ban the Haka

Don't ban it IMHO as I think it is a part of world rugby and I enjoy it immensely

What needs to change is the precious attitude taken towards it by New Zealand RU and some players.

I have made this point elsewhere and the reason the supporters sing over it now is that NZ got so picky about what was or was not disrespectful that England's team just stood there and the crowd decided to get involved.

This thread should probably die, I know. But honestly man, the people who get precious and picky are mostly the Media and a couple of hardcore natives. But that's them, folks who like to stir the pot. They are not representative of the every day Kiwi.

The NZRU haven't acted petty in any way? Likewise the players. They did it in the sheds once because Wales likes to try things every few years. Their administration said no, and we just did our own thing. I don't see how that makes us villains of the earth mate.

It's all the heavy lifting we do for you guys on the field, picking up all that slack. Someone has to put on a good show, might as well be us.

I think if we wanted to make rugby fair, we shouldn't keep score during the game and afterwards we should give everyone a trophy for playing. That way there are no winners or losers and no one gets their delicate feelings hurt.

I'll round up some mates to do a haka aye? We don't have enough of those these days.

When teams barely played each other and NZ toured, the haka was a unique thing. Now we can see it a dozen times a year, so it isn't as special. Not to mention that even the bloody NZ darts team does one, so the special feeling seems lost. Not to mention the politics and labels of 'disrespectful' that get thrown around, I really don't care, its just an extra minute to prepare the tea.

To be fair, the introduction of the Kapo O Pango Haka has made it a bit more interesting.

It seems that the Ka Ma Te Haka is used against teams who doesn't really pose a real threat. Whereas Kapo O Pango is used against teams who the All Blacks have more respect for, and that the opposing team has a chance of beating them.

Maybe if they add a third Haka, it would make it even better to watch.

Therein also lies a problem. They use certain haka's for certain teams, because they respect some teams more. /facepalm

How do you prepare your tea, while we're on vaguely new and interesting subjects?

Never said it was representative of everyday Kiwi's mate, the ones I have met are some of the best rugby people I have ever come across.

Who said villains of the earth here???

Nonu was one of the main protagonists of the stupidity see Nov 2008, Nov 2009 on google. The Welsh thing was in my opinion childish by New Zealand, they let the Welsh get under their skin then threw their toys out.

Like I said don't ban it I love it, in fact my favourite pre match moments are with two teams who do haka type challenges. Fantastic spectacle.

Kettle on a few minutes before anthems. Water and bag in as they come out of the tunnels, by the end of anthems it is ready (depends on anthems though, Ireland home games are a different story). Steep for three minutes, bit of milk and ready for kickoff. As soon as the halftime whistle blows, kettle on again.

Of course, for club rugby this is different, so I have to do it a little earlier. Usually when they have the team graphic up and are going through the 23.
