So Cruse going as well. That's 4 front rowers, quite a change there next season https://www.northamptonsaints.co.uk/news/tom-cruse-calls-time-on-professional-rugby-career Is Craig Wright (Eng U20) ready to step up as 4th choice?

If Patton is ready to be the 4th LH that would be great, then I agree with an experienced head. If Savala is happy to be understudy I'd happily keep him longer (only 23 so has time to grow but also might want more game time) Hopefully we can uncover another gem from a lower league (like we did...

Am I missing anyone Lockett stepping up to replace Moon Pollock to replace Ludlam (is this too early and we should get someone in short term?) Kemeny to replace Lawes 1. Iogen, Haffar 2.Langdon, S Matavesi, Cruise, Smith 3. (Hill) Davison, Millar-Mills, Nonleh, Prowse 4/5. Mayanavanua, Coles...

I would like it if Pearson develops into an 8. From what I've seen his carrying is pretty good. I do like a more rangey (lawes-esque) 6 Also missed Prowse at tighthead. That two 31 year old THs and two 23. As long as the youngsters are seen as adequate cover I think that's enough With 2 pound...

Just looked on all.rugby (pinch of salt taken) Pollock is listed as 100kg Sam Cane 108kg Ardie Savea 103kg Not sure on their accuracy but probably not loads off, and at only 19 it shouldn't take too much extra to gain that weight. The big question is with him and Pearson both being considered...

What happened to Nonleh at TH? He's only 24 but not seen him yet Also there's Pollock at 7 who will probably start to need some more game time next season That give 2 for every back 5 position (with academy to fill the rest) We will definitely need another LH

[2024 Six Nations] Italy vs England - 03/02/24

I'm sure I read/heard that Saints are kicking more than anyone in the Prem this year. Being a bit more pragmatic, but then having the ability to be clinical when its on has been that biggest difference to Saints this year (along with the improvement in defence) But then that is probably all...

    England 2023/24

I do like it when there is a solid reliable centre to free up others to play a bit more. O'Driscoll had D'arcy. Conrad Smith for NZ etc

    Full contact: thoughts?

Similar to Borthwick. Had only been in the role a few weeks so probably didn't want the added distraction If they do a second season it will be interesting to see if more teams open up.

    Full contact: thoughts?

It will depend on who gave them the most access. In the first season of Drive to Survive, Red Bull didn't want to engage, so they weren't really covered in it. But they then opened up in subsequent seasons. I guess Scotland gave the most access

Amazon dipping its toes into NH rugby

They seem to release them a couple of weeks before the next year's tournament (they do the same with drive to survive/ F1 and I think break point/and the linked open) I guess there hope is, you watch the documentary, and then are inspired to watch this year's tournament

    Scotland 6 Nations squad 2024

Would now probably be classed as Saints 2nd choice. But get your point. Seems like Townsend wants solid set piece focused forwards, and Millar-Mills is exactly that. Proper old school prop

    England World Cup Squad

Am I right in saying that because Farrell had tucked his arm the tackle is always illegal therefore no mitigation taken into account? (unless I'm wrong about the law there)

    England vs Wales - 12/08/23

Thought in general, the forwards for England did okay (Think Earl put his hands up for a starting spot at either 7 or 8) We just can't score tries. With Farrell's potential ban it could help with Ford at 10 (both tactically and in a leadership capacity as mentioned earlier with people not...

    2023-2024 transfers

I think having a 'senior' 10 has held back Grayson. I think Smith will need game time and a shot to hit the ceiling people are talking about. It worked ok for Marcus Smith. And with Mitchell and Furbank (both 26 next season) to support him with making the right calls on the pitch, I'd rather...

The impact of playing at home

After looking at the results at the weekend, I noticed in the super rugby quarters, URC quarters and the last round of the premiership, all games where won by the home team. In the top 14 it was only 4 out of 7 won by the home team. Not 100% sure what my question is but thought it was interesting
