Considering the injuries and some inept displays, the Wallabies have still managed to finish second (well maybe third as I'd give second place to daylight!) in the Rugby Championship. So despite much media hysteria, situation pretty much normal.
Not sure if this is exactly what he meant. They certainly lacked the "mongrel" of some previous Wallaby sides though. The only genuine display of "niceness" came from SBW in his supportive message to a sadly out of sorts Kurtley Beale, post match.
Yes FlukeArtist was wrong in this, but correct in everything else. If as much energy was spent on improving other nations' rugby, as is used in *****ing about NZ, then maybe that 80% winning rate could be reduced.
If the original point of contact is shoulder to chest-and some replays indicate this-then it is not illegal. As much as I hate to see players hurt, the shoulder charge has become an effective and crowd pleasing aspect of Rugby League.
Great, thorough analysis. There will be no quarter given in the Reds v Waratahs game though-the mutual hatred that exists between these two franchises has been going on forever! I would like to see the Chiefs top the table, as I consider the NZ group to be the toughest.
Australia are nowhere near their best yet-but winning their last 4 successive games against S.A. and 2 from their last 4 against NZ makes them arguably the SH's worst? Um how?
There may be Sonny-Bill "come lappers" but there are also people who simply appreciate his skill and appetite for work. Solid effort all-round from him tonight.
As I said pre game not confident about the Wallabies. However after watching the game it was decided by one factor only-pace. Not individual speed but the pace of the game. Australia's strength (even with a backline decimated by injuries) is playing the game at speed. Sure it helps having Genia...
Not too confident about Australia's chances tonight. The Wallabies would have to be the most inconsistent team in world rugby. Who else (between losing to Samoa and Scotland) would; manage to beat N.Z. in the Tri-Nations decider, beat South Africa 3 (or is it 4?) times in succession and overcome...
Lawrence looked fine to me.He's just a referee doing his best.Hysterical squealing by supposed rugby supporters from one country has forever besmirched his reputation. As well as being childish and pathetic, it's also just unfair.
