So, 2008.

Wow, this year went by so fast! For me, a lot happened! Here are some of the awesome events of 2008 for me:

- Became a TRF member
- I got a promotion (Went from being a junior sound assistant to a "sound engineer")
- Hit the 5 year relationship with me girl
- Worked my ass off (I know a lot of you can relate to this...)
- In terms of gaming, it was one of the biggest years ever.
- The rugby was as good as ever.
- I met Steve-o thanks to the forum, we got together, and even after that, we watched a game (Sharks vs Lions, which was an awesome evening!!!)

So yeah, a lot of cool stuff happened this year. I also just got a new graphics card for my PC, and i plan to ask my girlfriend to marry me this month, right before christmas. :)

As for Xmas and new year's, I'm gonna be camping and fishing, as well as getting absolutely plastered!!!!!!! Here's hoping for a great 2009 for everyone! To all the members of the forum, we had a good year, and i think everyone on here feels as though they have known each other for years! We are an awesome community, and let's keep this great forum going for many years to come! Because the members, are what makes this place our online home's. :p

'- Tis here we learn to live'

Merry christmas to everyone, and a Happy new Year ladies and gentleman! :bravo:

Congratulations and good luck. :) Also, you really shouldn't have posted that last bit. What if by some chance she came here, discovered your account and read that post?
Your surprise would be ruined!

Every day is the same for me on TRF.. i still haven't finished MUP.. i swear i am in some time loop.

You'll know it's Christmas on TRF soon enough. This is now my FIFTH Christmas on TRF. It normally goes quiet at this time of year but I'm trying to keep things as busy as possible.

Blah, blah, blah, the '5th Xmas on TRF' card doesn't wash with me. ;)

I remember when we had to walk to TRF, in the snow, with no shoes!

"No shoes" I hear you say? Sheer luxury...

Jingle Bells

Browsing through the web
I'm here too much they say
On the net we go
TRF all the way;

Jer1cho is cool
Sir Speedy is quite bright
What fun it is to deride and sing
That Prestwicks team is shite

Oh, Jingle bells
Prestwick smells
Is GayGuy really gay?
O what fun it is to mock
Teh mite on a matchday

Oh, Jingle bells
Prestwick smells
Is GayGuy really gay?
O what fun it is to mock
Teh mite on a matchday

A day or two ago
this story I must tell
Teh Mite was getting hammered
Flat on his ass he fell;

Prestwick was passing by
Wearing his fez so passe
He just laughed as teh mite lay
Throwing up all day

Oh, Jingle bells
Prestwick smells
Is GayGuy really gay?
O what fun it is to mock
Teh mite on a matchday

Oh, Jingle bells
Prestwick smells
Is GayGuy really gay?
O what fun it is to mock
Teh mite on a matchday

If rugby had years named after mammals like the chinese do, then 2008 was Year of the Dunning.

LOL, good call.

From my side 2008 was also a good on this forum. Becoming a mod was right up there, followed closely by turning down the EoE

Meeting another TRF member in Jer1cho was awesome. Got a hat full of rugby vids and documentaries from him, not to mention the FREE Sharks vs Lions tickets he hooked up. They were cheap seat behind the posts but we managed to cunningly sneak into the expensive seating! HAHA.

THe biggest highlight this year for me was the Natal Sharks winning the Currie Cup, hands down.

Been a mixed one for me to be honest:

Negatives:
Death of my gran/ensuing trial for the arsec*** who knocked her down
credit crunch
**** job
leaving Currie rugby club

Positives:
University started, moved to Aberdeen
playing for Aberdeen now and loving it
Quite content with life and how things between me and my missus is going....
Summer was a good laugh - even though there was a stupid amount of pre-season throwing up to be done!!

2008 wasn't bad, wasn't outstanding either...let's hope 2009 is a bit more of the + and less of the -.

2008 was great.
- I left my old job to persue a job across the pond.
- Worked with kids from the Bronx and Brooklyn, Harlem and the Queens. Learned so much!
- Drove 6,000 miles (East to West coast) in America for 5 weeks. Best experience of my life.
- Pulled a Hooters girl.

Can't go wrong with a year like that in my opinion! :D

Only negative...stopped going to the gym thanks to America.
