Blues vs Chiefs and Brumbies vs Reds are very interesting match-ups. I'm of the opinion that the Chiefs are better placed and will outperform the Blues this season. Very hard to split them though. Everyone is a ways off the Crusaders in any case. Also, I'm liking the Reds going forward but think the Brumbies might still be no.1 in Aus. Also I have the Stormers over the Hurricanes at home and early in the season though I do think the Hurricanes might fair better later on whereas the Stormers tend to stall out. That said, the 'Canes have a tougher season so I have us ahead of them on the overall log in any case. Those three are my games of round 1.

I know too little about the teams to make any predictions and am also very concerned as to my Superbru picks.

I've not been following any of the reports about the overseas teams and have been out of touch about news since after the World Cup.

I'm going with a more conserved approach with regards to the picks this first week, and probably go with the home teams, and the teams that performed better last year.

Home teams apart from the Sunwolves is probably a good shout though. As good as one can probably make so early in the season.

Blues v Chiefs - this is a good game on paper. just fancy a Blues win.
Brumbies v Reds - think the Brumbies will get a comfortable victory here .
Sharks v Bulls - don't see a lot between these teams. the Sharks are probably stronger on paper but I could see the Bulls sneaking it.
Sunwolves v Rebels - don't think this will be dull!!. got a feeling the Sunwolves may be better than some think but still backing the Rebels
Crusaders v Waratahs - even though this isn't in Christchurch still can't see any joy for the Tahs. Crusaders to lay down a marker.
Stormers v Hurricanes - can see the Stormers winning this pretty easily actually. just my opinion but I think the Canes pack is weaker than its been for some time.
Jaguares v Lions - could be a long 80 minutes for the Lions I fear.

chiefs
reds
sharks
sunwolves
saders
canes
lions

cant believe the season has started

have to say that i am not a fan of the canes jerseys this season. wont be getting another until they come up with something nicer and not just yellow

Looking Forward to my Saturday Am fix of Rugby on sky .
Tempting to stick an all home wins acca on however after world cup and players moving I'm pretty clueless on respective strengths.
Generally miss the SA games as watch the Prem or now 6N but do watch highlights show.
Just stick my
Wales
Ireland
France
acca I think.

Maybe Beuden Barret would have been the difference for the Blues, Chiefs did well though. I felt that the Cruden assist for THAT Chiefs try was forward...

This was my first wrong prediction . Only @Ken and @TRF_stormer2010 are still in the running for a 100% prediction record.

P.S and @Oliver Madden

Ah man, missed the link, where can I join? This is Superbru right?

Edit: I realise now you are probably just referring to the predictions above.

Yea, its just for the predicitons posted on the thread. Would be nice to see who got closest every week on the match threads.

I must say i was not planning on doing Superbru again this year, but im starting to get itchy about it and feeling that i might regret it later if i dont start playing now, only missed two matches so far.

We should maybe start a TRF league again or someone should post a link to the existing one... in the meanitime everyone must just make sure they personally make their picks untlil it gets sorted.

2 nice games for the Neutral this morning enjoyed them on a rare day off.

Bah, that was brutal for the bulls. Dont think they deserved that. Was back and forth all game, they deserved at least the bp.
Not the most entertaining game to be honest.

Since i have you here, i thought i'd ask. Do you guys think there'll be a time when normal, down to earth folk like myself, who enjoy the simple things of life, like sipping a cup of earl or watching SR on weekends, will be able to turn on the tele, tune in to my fav footie competition, and watch the crusaders logo without seeing two mirror images of male genitalia?

Sounds like you've snapped your shaft... I'd go to accident and emergency!
