3rd test - Australia v British & Irish Lions

Kay discussing how the bench will change now with players having a rest.

Lions have Stuart, Genge, Kelleher, Earl and Mitchell left right?

Mitchell won't come on. Kelleher could well be unlikely now. Stuart is a maybe depending on how Furlong is going. Earl could well come on for Curry or Conan depending on the game. Genge should come on now because Porter is ****.

Sounds like it is fairly recent.
Aussie comm.s just mentioned a match in RSA "a few years ago" where the stadium was hit, and they played on.
They're saying "classic South Africa" rather than "this regulation wasn't I place" also not clarifying if "a few years ago" means 2-3, or 20-30 when he was still playing
Apparently world rugby only issued their guidelines in June 2020

When you think about it we're only talking about it since it's an international on TV. Realistically that's a very small subset of games being played worldwide in a weekend

Idk, if anything I reckon we might see some of the subs come straight on. The front row players’ backs must be seizing up like crazy having this long of a break.

People will hate this take but:

If this was American sports, it would be 1-2 minutes of talking/update on the status of the delay and 5 minutes of commercials.

The advertisers would love it and then you have fewer breaks when the game resumes.

How is that a take?

You liberals won't like to hear this but if this channel showed more adverts they could be showing adverts right now

Yours is the only country I know where TV advertising rules a major sport

There should be no breaks when the game goes on...

American sports are essentially adverts with a ball in between.

Love playing American football and basketball, and in fact being in the stadium is for NFL NBA is great, but watching on TV is akin to cricket or golf.

But they are sustainable.

No one here likes the ads. But we understand without them we would be like Wasps fans.

As it's not American sports, "fewer breaks when the game resumes" isn't an issue.
No-one else stops playing for ad.s (or just plays as.s over the game)
