Labour will never come out as we will stop Brexit when its leader has always wanted the UK to leave the EU/EEC. Corbyn has always stood by his principles and he will never support a capitalist trading block.
The one party who could benefit from all of this are the Lib Dems who have always been pro EU and could look at boosting their support massively.

If Labour had the same leadership election rules as the Tories then it would be relatively easy to oust Corbyn and replace him with an anti-Brexit centre left candidate who would stand a very good chance of toppling the Tories and stopping Brexit.
Most Labour MPs want to get rid of Corbyn but they can't because he still has the support of clueless party members who get to decide who the leader is. It's a bit like letting football or rugby fans decide who gets to become manager or head coach. There's a reason why this doesn't happen.

I know we have an increasingly aging population but parties really have no idea how to get young people interested/keep them (apart from the Tories who just round up all private school kids who vote for who mummy and daddy did and will never stray)

Have I got this process right (specifically for the Tories)?
JRM needs 48 letters expressing no confidence to force a vote in May.
IF he gets that, then he needs 150 votes to remove her - and that's just a vote for May or No May.
IF she loses, then she can't stand, and they need a volunteer to actually put their head above the parapet.
If I've got that right, I would expect him to get the 48 required; but not the 150 - which makes May safe from challenge for 12 months.
However, if she loses (or calls it quits) in the first round; I would love it if essentially nobody puts their hands up to take the top job (unlikely whilst BoJo and Gove still exist, but hey). What would happen then? presumably Parliament has fallen apart and either Corbyn is asked to form a minority government, or a general election is forced - without a Tory leader...
TBH, if nobody puts their hand up, I can see either Ken Clarke "taking one for the team" and stepping into the leadership role as the only candidate - revoking Art 50 and retiring. I can also see Johnson stepping up as the only candidate; crashing out with no deal; affirming his place in the history books, and brazening it out.

Agreed on Gove - not resigning was the smart thing to do as it would have looked like he was merely following Raab and others and it keeps him onside with the May'ites who will have a big say in a leadership contest.
Keep an eye out for Jeremy Hunt. Keeping a low profile at the moment (also the smart thing to do) but will no doubt emerge if there is a hint of a leadership contest. I can see the May'ites backing him with him emerging as the winner. I don't see BoJo or JRM getting enough support.
Being invaded by Germany or Russia would be one simple way of putting us out of our misery if emigration isn't an option.

I think you have - 159, half the Tory MPs, would be required. Have read that around 40 letters are believed to have gone in.
Brexit may be toxic, but should she go there'll be plenty of candidates to replace her. Not saying they'll necessarily be credible or an upgrade mind.....
Genuinely have no clue how this will play out or who will be leading the country come March. Its morbidly fascinating.
If Jezza came out and said - "any deal we negotiate will be put before the people in a referendum so they can decide whether to proceed or not" - then I reckon labour would likely get a sizeable majority.

It's very complicated because she could, in theory, be safe for 12 months if she wins the confidence vote but it's also widely accepted that she'll have to resign if she can't get her Brexit deal through Parliament, which at this point looks likely.
He was asked yesterday and he said he wouldn't be looking for it! Spineless with no actual solutions like the rest of them. Just like the Brexit minister somehow didn't know about the agreed deal in advance?
Yip - the man in charge of the negotiation didn't know what was being negotiated until it was presented to him by the Prime Minister.
How the f**k such incompetent (or dishonest) people can be allowed into public office is beyond me.
I'd have Jezza as PM in a heartbeat. At least you know what mistakes he makes, he's making them for the right reasons.

If a hard Brexiteer like JRM was PM then the we'd end up crashing out with no deal because they'd never be able to negotiate a hard Brexit agreement with EU. The three options are effectively Remain, May's BRINO and No deal. If BRINO comes at a cost to jobs and the economy then what's the point of it? May as well Remain or crash out with no deal.
That's pretty much the way I see it.
I'd put it as such back to the electorate.
(A) Remain.
(B) Proceed with deal.
(C) Leave with no-deal.
Wasn't he also recently shocked to hear about how important the Dover-Calais crossing was to trade to the continent?
