Beauden Barrett start for the ABs against the Stormers. It was announced before the tour started. Codie Taylor start as the 'tour captain" while Ardie Savea only joining week before test.

reports codie taylor not fit and only aiming for the first test so wont be used in the midweek games....i imagine we might see BB as midweek captain as think he's only in line for tests as a back up....would love if we'd taken someone as a future captin and used this tour to blood them, old school

I'm forever an optimist that the ABs can draw this series.

BTW
Anyone pick up on this disgraceful outcome at the Welcome event? What was the point does anyone know?

Cape Crusaders ruin the welcome
There’s supporting the All Blacks for (very understandable) historical reasons - and then there is insulting, abusing and being generally rude to a group of people that have massively helped in making the Springboks far more representative of the whole country than they used to be. As for swearing at and booing your own countrymen just because they support their national team - honestly, pathetic and embarrassing. I genuinely do not know why SA rugby ever schedule a Boks/ABs test in Cape Town. It’s just wilfully giving up a massive advantage to the opposition.

Our new kit was just released. Words of the anthem form the shape of our flag on the front. Yellow panelling on the sides and collar simplified vs previous version (no raggedness):

Quite the Stormers debut for Ahmed - First game: All Blacks. No pressure buddy. That being said, he was probably our best performer in the U20 Championship tournament win last month and did quite well in the SA A game vs Zim. But obviously this is a... fairly monumental step-up

By the way, for those of you out of the loop: Ma'a Nonu recently signed for the Sharks and is expected to play against the All Blacks next week - That should be fun.
