All Blacks vs France - 05/07/25

How do France expect to win a world cup when they dont give their first team a game against the best opposition?

SA have established the model of continuity in selection and performance

France's policy of sending weakened teams to the Southern Hemisphere will keep on killing them come the big World Cup Matches. Most of their players will only ever play the ABs or Boks at home in their careers. They are missing a level of pressure and intensity that you only experience when touring SA or NZ. I think as a team, you need to have that experience of winning when your backs are against the wall away from home against a great side.

NZ won the series, but they are still well off the level of the Springboks. Their two games in Argentina to start the RC will be interesting, I don’t expect them to win both. I think this could be the year when that Eden Park record goes - the ABs will struggle to beat SA IMO.

I can never understand that argument. Which world cup does it apply to?
In 1995 Derek Bevans closed his eyes as Benazzi dived over and grounded. We should have been in the final. We had won the series in NZ the year before, so your logic is flawed. That semi was decided by the ref, not by what we did (or didn't do) on tour.

Ireland won the series in NZ, they didn't get past the quarter final the following year. Winning down under is no guarantee of winning the Rwc.

Btw, NZ have just erased their last 3 losses against us. We're all square. In the three games before the series, every time we have fielded our senior side, we have won.
