Ankle feeling loose

So recently I suffered damage to one of the ligaments in my left ankle, I have followed the doctor's advice on helping my ankle heal but it feels loose and nothing like my right ankle. I have training and a match later in the week so Im just wondering is there any other things I can do apart from wear an ankle support and warm up correctly that can potentially help get rid of this feeling of looseness and potentially prevent recurring injury?
 
I would strongly recommend consulting a private physiotherapist (preferably a sports specialist) and following their advice to the letter. A series of sporting injuries that I didn't rehab properly has left me with an ankle that periodically is sufficiently painful to stop me sleeping at the ripe old age of 34.
