Argentina vs England - 12/07/25

I think the worry for me is that locks is still a issue that hasn't been sorted imo
For me hooker is still an issue and I was hoping for a better performance from Langdon.
Lock depth is a concern, but with all locks fit and firing not a huge issue.
15 still has question marks, especially depending on the game plan. Steward did well overall, but he's still a worry if left with a 1:1 tackle. Furbank was the man in the shirt, but he's been out for so long.
Centre looks better, but still heavily reliant on Atkinson.

Very good series win. Scruffy at times but getting it done down there is good work.

George Ford remains underrated doesn’t he. Just thinking watching him that for me he’s the sort of 10 that Ireland are/have been missing since Sexton retired.

Definitely a very capable 10 in a good back line.

2-0 series win, I was kinda expecting a 2-0 loss.
We keep the Raeburn, and take it up to USA with us. Hope everyone's social media are squeaky clean and don't say anything mean about the world's biggest twat.

ETA: IIRC today's win equals our longest run with the shield, beat USA and it's a new record for us

Ford both impresses me and infuriates me. When he's passing well and kicking well he's fantastic, but he still kicks too much overall. Maybe it's all Borthwick, but it is very frustrating when it's a wasteful kick and there are clearly options.

It worked overall against Argentina, but better teams will punish England for giving them that much ball.

Langdon disappointed me but not as much as Dan who was outright awful.

Agree on 15 but Dingwall played well in the 6N so I think he’ll be competing with Atkinson.

Bad day for you today …

Honestly, I think both Argentina's tries were lucky. The juggle for the first and the bounce off the post for the second.
I hope he talking about the try not the actual game because nothing about that was lucky England pretty much the better team.

Negatives discipline almost doesn't matter who plays we get more cards, 3 yellows and a red in 3 games. Line out still needs work.

Positives outside of the results, I do hope Blackett stays on cause attack looked a lot better. I gotta say props and 12 was a big issue over last well its been a long time, both done very well on this tour.

Let's keep Lee Blackett. He has a past of running some excellent attack minded teams unlike Wigglesworth.
Please.
Defence is looking really solid too.
I liked that midfield.
Hookers fluffed their lines today. Badly. I have no idea why Dan is on a CC when he has Dombrandts hands, Rory Best's darts, my scrumaging and Mallinder's defence. Langdon looked like he was trying too hard (wtf was that 20m pass).

Credit to our defensive setup. Argies never looked like scoring from open play. Both tries were fortunate

Both props were excellent as was the back row and midfield. S Atkinson has taken to test rugby well against a tough team.

It's almost criminal that given our depth in the back row that the likes of Pepper and Underhill will struggle to get into the match day 23 when everyone is fit.Although I do see Pepper pushing on over the next 12 months.

Brilliant. Argentina looked like they were desperate not to lose the game and were camped out in their own half but England stuck at it and won a great match

Agree, Underhill is that good he could be a Lion IMHO! What a player when fit.

Yes I know what you mean- it’s a clear game plan/situational percentages that are drilled in and you’re right it can be infuriating.

He is a very slick player on his day though and runs a backline and game plan really well- it’s a shame he came through at the same time as Faz in some ways but Ford has led us very well at times from 10, not least of all in the RWC 2023 group game versus Argentina.

Worth remembering that this Argentina team started the series above England in the rankings, and came fresh off a victory against the Lions.
Conversely, this England team started with a loss to France B, and are missing from the first XV
1. Genge
2. LCD/(George)
3. Stuart
4. Martin
5. Itoje
6. Chessum/Pollock
7. TCurry
8. Earl

09. Mitchell
10. FSmith/MSmith
11. Freeman
12. Dingwall
13. Lawrence/(Slade)
14. Feyi-Wabosi/Sleightholme
15. Furbank

I said mid-match, I don't think this team is a huge drop off from our starting XV. Only 2, 4 & 5 would be huge upgrades.
