Like I said: ok game, nothing to write home about, only elevated because of highlight reel plays (which didn't come off)

... but obviously, he's surely nowhere near the test team at the moment.

The AUNZ team were very poor today. I wouldn't make any selection decisions based on today's game.

And nobody was saying the AUNZ was poor before the game, were they ? As usual, the Lions are gonna make the same mistake and pick reputation over form once again

A team of great players, but like a Baabaas side, didn't really click.
It may have been a mistake by RA to put this match in the middle of the tour.
The Lions still looked like they were getting to know each other earlier, but this game has given them real confidence.

Well the invitational team was predictably a load of plop. The pre test fixtures have got to be be better than this.

Pollock gave away a couple of pens, missed a couple of tackles and had a case of white line fever. If that pass of his was forward that sets a good new benchmark for refs, but given what normally goes he was unlucky. But he was also pretty high in the tackle count when they flashed that and had several nice understated ‘doing the right thing’ touches and landed a try when he had no right to. Also he’s everywhere, always supporting, also close to the action.

He looked exactly what he is - super talented but learning. He’s not going to have a key role in this series but I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him from the bench at some point.

well, that was disappointing

Lion keeping them scoreless is a real takeaway, where were players in that team that have score "worldies" on the international stage and lots had something to prove....so to stop them is an achievement i think

concerning though, it was a much stringer team on paper than i expected.....and they have the next wallabies coach (and yes i know they didn't have long together)....but they didn't gel

AUNZ were a very good team of individuals, unaccustomed to playing together - much like the Lions (who've now had a month together).
If we take anything away from it, it should be how difficult it is to mould a scratch team into coherence to take on any actual established, international level team.

thats fair, i think i just would have thought some of those individuals would have had a moment of brilliance, lions didnt give them a chance maybe
