BBC SPORT -Farrell joined at Saracens by son

Yay. We'll soon have yet another mediocre Union centre who we can give undeserved caps to.

Harsh on the kid really, but at least living in his father's overated shadow will give him a genuine cause for resentment.

Actually word is from the academy is that Farrell Jnr is pretty damn good. Been doing Union from day one, is damned fast and quick on his feet like a terrier. Think of a 16 year old version of Shane Geraghty and you'd be pretty close.

Well one thing is for sure he can't be any worse than his father!

I wish him all the best the more English talent we have the stronger we will be in the future, it needs the English Clubs to develop the talent and not end up like the Football where there is minimal English Talent available...

Yeah, everything I've read says the boy deserves the contract.
His dad, in my opinion, is quite good. I think he's made a major contribution to Saracens, and has the potential to do so for England, if they aren't agest.

For all his faults, Farrell does work hard at Saracens and fits in pretty well with the wrecking ball way in which Saracens work, he's just not cut out to play in international Rugby Union.

That'll be cos he'd ended up playing prop at Wigan and it's laughable to try and turn a rugby league forward into a rugby union international centre. Saracens had the right idea initially by playing him in the forwards.

Guarantee you he would have been barnstorming as a flanker. Everyone is a wee bit too harsh on Farrell. Yes, he is too slow as a center and probably will never get over that problem with the ten yard gap, but you cannot deny that he puts everything into his game. We're talking as though he's lurking behind a corner at RFU HQ giving Rob Andrew and Brian Ashton thousands of pounds worth of bungs in used £50 notes in order to get a place. He shouldn't have been given a place after the Six Nations but if you are named on the squad what are you going to do?

He does get given allot of stick usually reserved for more scandalous characters like Laurence Dallaglio. He doesn't say much controversial, he doesn't eat kittens for breakfast or urinate on the flags of his opponents, he just simply has the misfortune of playing in a position in which everyone outside of the RFU feels he shouldn't be in.

Sadly, that's going to be his legacy, not good enough to play at international level but unfairly labelled "that f***ing knob who doesn't know how to play at center."

But what he did do was get paid an extorsonate amount of money to be a really rather crap player for the national side, taking the 12 shirt from much more deserving players such as Toby Flood, Anthony Allen or Shane Geherety.

He sure as hell knew how to play RUGBY at Wigan

Fancy paying all that money for an injured prop and then trying to turn him into a centre
