Best centre partnerships in the world atm?

SBW and Conrad Smith have only played once together and that was last year. If you're talking about current form combinations then SBW and Robbie Fruen are playing superbly well in comparison to Smith and Nonu atm.

maybe not at the moment bu for most of the last 5 years its been o'driscoll and d'arcy

Jamie Roberts + Brian O'Driscoll on Lions tour 2009

Other good ones include:
Nonu+Smith (Hurricanes & New Zealand)
SBW+Fruean (Crusaders)
Mapusua+Seveali'i (London Irish)
D'Arcy+O'Driscoll (Leinster & Ireland)
Mermoz+Marty (Perpignan)
Jauzion+Fritz (Toulouse)

Vintage combinations:
Horan+Herbert (Reds & Australia)

Shanks and Henson for 2005/2008
Right now, JdV and Fourie.

Roberts and Laulala are solid at club level, same goes for Davies/King.

JD is a world class centre for Scarlets, its just a shame Wales haven't got the best out of him yet at international level. Don't think him and Roberts work as well as they should together, on paper they should be devastating but i'd like to see Hook inside JD for the world cup.

We'll just have to see who performs best at the world cup, but it's likely to be SBW & Smith that stand out.

Well i reckon for the WC it will be SBW and Smith. I have to say though, JDV and Fourie and my favorites

Past:
Roberts & O'Driscoll - a brief but beautiful union

Current:
De Villiers & Fourie - solid and settled
(I'd have given it to Nonu & Smith but their last few outings together were uninspiring)

Future:
SBW & Smith - only time will tell but it's a combination worth betting on IMO

The problem with a SBW/Smith is that it's a bit counter productive. The reason why Smith and Nonu work out well, is Smith covers Nonu's defensewell, while distributing to him or the wings to put them in space. SBW/Fruean works well because you have a very big guy drawing in players and offloading to another really big and hard running centre. Smith makes anyone look good, but it's certainly different from the Crusaders combo.

D'Arcy and O'Driscoll is where it's at.
But also Mapusua and Seveali'i.
And also, Jauzion and Fritz.
Not actually adding to the list but Sunuila and Tulievuka of the Eagles are becoming better. Of course they're nowhere near these guys. Just wanted to give a shout-out.

Absolutely Sonny-Bill and Fruean.

Nonu and Smith have been a great partnership but as seen from the Hurricanes run of form... Haven't been up to their best.

O'Driscoll, D'Arcy will always be brilliant.
