The brother of the legendary porky Fijian winger Rupeni Caucaunibuca (right), Apisai Salabogi (left) has been given a trial with Pro D2 side Tarbes. Salagobi is the younger brother aged 28 and has spent all his career based in Fiji and spent the majority of his time playing Sevens, and played for Fiji Sevens side in 2007. At the 15 man code, Salagobi plays as a winger but can also play in the back row. His trial was initially for one week but has been extended and he will keep training with the side for longer. Tarbes have a three Fijian players already in their squad, Malakai Bakaniceva, Isoa Domolailai and Vereniki Goneva, the latter was in the Fiji World Cup squad and scored 4 tries against Namibia in their opening match of what turned out to be a dismal campaign for the Islanders.

Rupeni Caucau meanwhile is likely to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury which was sustained in a 10 minute cameo substitute appearance in the opening match of the season against Bayonne, a cameo in which he set up a try. He is also likely to be released by Toulouse at the end of the season, and will be aged 32 and it could spell the end for the what could have been possibly the greatest winger of all time, but for a lazy and selfish character.

And in this line is possibly one of the most saddest truths in all of Rugby's history.
