Centenary Test

kiwis were just gone after that first try and let in 3 of the softest tries you may ever see in league. second half much improved and at least they kept it respectable. difference between the 2 teams thurston puts on a pin point kick for try and leauali for the kiwis kick down the throat of the winger with a 4 on 3. big sonny bill was on fire for that second half for the kiwis and played out of his skin. others to perform for the kiwis I thought were perret, nightingale, sosiloa and young issac luke. with some players back from injury and some decent halves nz could have a chance at the world cup.

oh and one final thing ashley klein is still a klown some very bizzare calls in the game tonight.

Please, please, please keep Klein over there will ya? We really don't want him back!

Shame... Really was going for the Kiwis in this one. Just too much try scoring ability in that Australian side. Still, good work that the Kiwis regrouped and managed to get the better of the second half.
Oh well, hopefully this means the kiwis will get better and be a real threat come the RLWC.

Iglis is the man isn't he! great athleticism in that first try to Gasnier.

What i didn't understand, in the first half, the kiwis kept bombing/crossing field kicking to Nightingales wing, where Folau was marking, that was utter stupidity! Folau was a man giant compared to Nightingale and he would have to leap tall buildings in a single bound to jump higher than Folau!

Sonny Bill did jack that first half. Great player as Hohaia is, he is not a stand off (No.6)! Our wingers are too small, Brent Webb was mud that first half...

I left the pub at half time so didn't know what the 2nd half was about, seems like they very much improved?

Not gonna comment on the Kangaroos, we all know how good they are

BRING BACK MANU!! lol

I fell asleep after the first 30 or so minutes, maybe the Kangaroos need to play with 9 men so the Kiwis have a chance? :D

I was looking forward to a healthy 60-0 drubbing but Australia took their foot of the accelerator and that was it.

Like Matty Johns said in commentary, that try scored by Gasnier from the ball that was miraculously thrown back in field will be on the highlight reels for the rest of rugby league history.

If we had got our **** together at say... the 5 minute mark rather than the 20 minute mark when we were 4 tries down we could've actually been in with a sniff. I don't think the Aussies let their foot off the pedal after they were 22-0 up or anything, I just think that we finally stopped giving them holes wide enough to drive a truck through and actually started tackling.

Yeah I suppose so. Their defence did improve markedly. I wonder what Wayne Bennett said to them at half time?

The young hooker from the Rabbitohs Isaac Luke is going to be in the team for a very long time.

its all the same for the one off tests mid season ( ANZAC tests) bugger all time together players
comeing back from the uk 2 days b4 kick off. it was a good game in the sence that we will bulid
not takeing away from the roos they played like a champion team but give the kiwis a few weeks
in camp together and they will gell. and young issac luke has the goods i like that young man!

This to me typifies the difference between the wallabies and the kangaroos in terms of ability. The Kangaroos may not have the competition the wallabies do, but whenever they look even slightly challenged they just pull out some of the craziest tries from just absolutely no-where! Just ask the GB players who took part in the 2003 test series against the touring Kangaroos. It was the best the Poms had played for ages and they were winning all 3 matches until the last 5 minutes. But in each game the Kangaroos pulled out tries from no where and ended up winning all of them in a whitewash... Just so much try scoring ability. If only we had that depth in Union.
