Just needed a few more minutes

Why did Sale rotate so much for that one? 14 points off the playoffs in the prem, 8 behind the team in front and 9 ahead of the team behind and any match day points would have got them a home tie next round. Only one prem match before the PRC kicks in and the lads playing today get a bit more of a look.

Very odd from the outside looking in.

Probably just thought that they'd get nothing so why try

Didn't agree with it when they announced the side and don't agree with it now - some of the selections this season have been bonkers (and a number forced by poor recruitment, so it's long term pants on head thinking)

Sounds silly, considering the scoreline, but I think we could've scored four tries today with a more sensible team selection - I can think of two tries off the top of my head that we left out there with poor final pass selection, and we had enough time pick and going, or mauling, on their tryline that a more experienced pack should've had finished at least one

I don’t like it but don’t blame AS for doing it at all, with the budget disparity it’s hard to complete, is a try bonus point likely to make much difference in the end? With an already depleted squad I get that you might just want to preserve players, the opposition are always going full bore given they have to. It’s also just another part of this bat **** crazy format that teams can just throw away games through selections.

Sarries look terrible, but that's such a clear penalty for them at the end of the half - Sarries players knees were on the ground at about the 5m line and they dragged him along the floor and into touch

Well, that's an L of our own doing we will have to hold. I'm not surprised after what happened in Pretoria but as a team we just cannot afford to make so many (largely) unforced and uncharacteristic individual errors, and get a result versus top opposition like Bordeaux. Shame Bristol didn't take a golden opportunity but full credit to Bordeaux, very classy on and off the pitch.

Wasn't to be today. Still, I think there's a lot to be positive to be about and hopefully a long way to go in the tournament and league.

Jesus we've got lucky. Our toughest route to the final is Edinburgh, Quins/Sale (much of a muchness) and Glasgow in Murrayfield where we'd take a crowd, Toulon or Stormers in Dublin being the likely alternative.

April peak, May choke, here we come.
