Good move for all concerned. POD is a good player, certainly good enough for the ML, but stuck behind Boss and Reddan so never likely to see much game time. Perhaps this is the move he needs to kick start his career. With Moore, Murphy and now O'Donohoe, there'll be a lot of competition for that Connacht nine shirt next season.

Good move for all concerned. POD is a good player, certainly good enough for the ML, but stuck behind Boss and Reddan so never likely to see much game time. Perhaps this is the move he needs to kick start his career. With Moore, Murphy and now O'Donohoe, there'll be a lot of competition for that Connacht nine shirt next season.

I have never been a big fan of O'Donohue but Elwood could make something out of him however Connacht need to be given the means to sign real promising up and coming talent from the other provinces as the only real main irish prospect they have signed is Maguire (I think he has some good talent just needs to improve his fitness). O'Connor, McCrea and Anderson are never going to be top class players and I think some real young Irish talent are stuck behind a big queue at their respective provinces. For example Nagle has a big future for Munster but is behind Ryan, MOD, DOC and POC. He has the talent to be a future Irish international and he needs game at the highest club levels now. He could spend two year getting lots of game time in the amlin challenge cup (or even Heineken cup) with Connacht and then return to Munster as DOC, POC and MOD all begin to retire.
