We at HB also want to let members know that you are in our thoughts as well as we watch events unfold.

It's been the longest day in living memory for pretty much every New Zealander. I'm very sad to say that there will inevitably be some even harder days to follow. The kind thoughts and deeds of anyone who has extended their sympathies will be hugely appreciated.

Following reports of the horrific earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand,
The Rugby Forum extends all our thoughts and prayers to our members and families who have been affected my this tragedy.UPDATED 22/02/2011 21:50 (GMT)
The Rugby Forum would like to promote the Salvation Army's Earthquake Appeal - http://www.salvationarmy.org.nz/giving-back/donate-online/disaster-appeals/canterbury-earthquake-appeal/
We would encourage all members if they can afford it to donate some money to help New Zealand out, the Salvation Army are doing some great work over in New Zealand and hopefully we won't see any more rises in the death toll.
If you can donate Please Do.

Awful news, my thoughts are with everyone in New Zealand.

I hope the death toll ceases to rise as soon as possible.

This is terrible . the people of New Zealand are in my thoughts and prayers.

Strangely enough my Girlfriends brother who was living in NZ and spend a good while in christchurch told me before christmas that he reckoned the place was ready to go..apparently the seismic activity was massive in the last year.
He moved to sweden a month or so ago because of it. :/

Horrible.

Heard a government minister say they're taking it one day at a time, but it sounds like they have no idea how bad the damage is.

From the footage I've seen it looks absolutely terrible,
Thoughts are with all those effected by it

I hope all the New Zealand members and their friends and family are o.k. The loss of life and destruction of property is terrible, but I know the country of New Zealand will rally and be a great host to the world in September/October.

There are a lot of Crusaders fans on here and its going to be an emotional season, reminescent of 2005 in America when the New Orleans franchises dealt with the flood.

I saw on their website that the IRB released this limited statement

My thoughts go out to all those affected in this disaster.

i'm completely gutted by this news, damage to buildings, like what occurred in the September quake is one thing, 75+ fatalities is another.

Fortunately i've heard that most of my friends and family are okay, but I feel for those who weren't so lucky :(

To read a bit more on how it effects the SupeRugby and the RWC, here's a TVNZ article with the latest news:

I've got friends in Christchurch and all are fine. My thoughts are with those familys and friends who are as fortunate.

i'm down here in christchurch, family's fine. no water yet, like 80% of christchurch, and no serious damage to the house. one of the lucky ones, i guess. thoughts are with the family's who have lost their loved ones.

Dreadful news. My thoughts go out to every New Zealander.

Same here, I'm happy my family and friends are alright. My thoughts are with the family's who have lost their loved ones.
