Good point at the end there. If you have no one to watch or discuss it with it makes anything very difficult to get into or follow. Even a TV series.
Im a kiwi living in Canada and no one I know cares about rugby, I did get my friends to watch the ABs take Canada apart in the WC but I had to buy them pizza while we watched it and some stayed up to watch us win the cup which was nice. I talk to my boss at length about what happened in Super Rugby on the weekend like he knows and cares what Im talking about when he has no idea but he humors me and it helps pass the time.
The 6 Nations was a pain because I downloaded all the games after the fact so had to not check facebook or text messages because my friends from 6N countries would post about it and ruin it for me.
All in all, its pretty difficult being a rugby fan, the players have it easy.
What sucks is whenever I talk to my friends after a rugby game is shown on main TV here they all loved it....it's just stuck on a niche TV station and even all our own tests don't get on TV. The CRC has had one or two games on CBC but not in a couple of years and the streams are inconsistent and spotty. I think many Canadians would watch it over soccer(MLS gets fairly low TV ratings) and possibly even Lacrosse(outside of major urban areas it would do well against Basketball).
