Doddie Weir has MND

Very grim. I hope he is able to eek out many months and years of enjoyment.

I think it is far too early so say that concussion is a contributing factor in such cases but such cruel conditions as this and dementia make me support any efforts to reduce impacts to the head.

Only just seen this. Awful awful news. Couple of years younger than me, doesn't half make you think.

One of the game's real characters. Not too many others have been described as being on the charge like a mad giraffe. Which also answers the best commentator question in another thread.

All the best to him and his family in the battles that lie ahead.

As a falcon we have such love for Doddie..

A brave man like Rob Burrows getting the message out there. He's done his job...

His sons have been superb by his side also...Inherited his strength.

RIP big Doddie.

RIP Doddie. So brave to turn up for the last match v NZ.

I wish Doddie well in what time he has left. And blessings to his family and friends, as I'm sure it's hard on them too.
