Doping in Rugby

This might be a question for someone who has been on or knows a fair bit about juice, but bare with me.

How do steroids (or certain steroids) actually help performance? I'm not asking for a list of benefits here I mean how do they specifically help as a rugby player? This is where it would come inhandy if you have tried them and wish to share your experiences.

For instance, they are rampant in American sport, but american sport is all about the explosive, like baseball and NFL. There's no endurance to it so I can see steroids will help that one movement you have to do. If someone was to shoot 500mg of test E into their ass a week, would this be all that beneficial to rugby or would there be too many draw backs like cramp, bloating etc.

I understand some roids have different sides and effects than others.

In layman's terms: they help you get better in every way relating to athletic performance.

Think of the difference between male and female athletes... what's the main physiological difference? Testosterone.

I know gym junkies who use steroids, they are huge while on them, but when they money dries up and the will to go to the gym non stop wears off they look worse than they did before the roids.
