Western Force's preparations for the Super Rugby season suffered an early set-back after scrum-half Justin Turner was ruled out of the tournament.
The young half-back injured his right knee at training and scans revealed he had re-torn the ACL and will have surgery next week.
"Justin is a quality young man and his dedication to his rehab program was second to none," Force head coach Richard Graham said.
"The program put together for Justin by our medical team was spot on and had him in great shape and this was just one of those very unfortunate incidents.
