I wonder how much Bothwick has been in contact with EJ about players and get some insight.

Tightheads are surely Sinckler, Cole and Heyes? I know Sinckler hasn’t been in sparkling form, but he’s still a good deal better than Hill or Williams.
I assume it'll be Sinks and Cole, but Heyes does worry me slightly, as a Leicester fan I do rate Heyes, but I worry about his game at the top level

I quite like ‘big Trev’, but I’m not sure whether he’s a loosehead or tighthead and I imagine covering both is probably hampering him rather than helping him in the selection mix.

I’d say that these days he’s very much a tighthead who is capable of covering loosehead to a very high standard. 23 of his 28 starts in the last two seasons have all been at tighthead.

He’d have been a pretty invaluable asset in a RWC squad in past years when teams could only select squads of 31, and generally only took 5 props. In a way he’ll probably be a bit of a victim of the new 33-man squad now that teams will almost certainly take 3 specialist looseheads and 3 specialist tightheads.

Hes pretty much only a tight head now BPM. Only really covers LH when required.

Mentor or not, talking to Jones would be about the worst thing he could do. He’s a very different character who needs to make up his own mind on his terms.

This isn’t an orderly transition. Borthwick is having to pick up a mess.

Disagree.
Eddie had a plan, and it would be good if Borthwick knew what that was; and can then chose how much to adapt, how much to keep, and how much to throw in the bin.

Of course, he should also be able to get that from the senior players; but no harm in asking Jones himself as well.

From what I read of a BBC article I think they had a very brief chat along the lines of good luck. Having said that Jones is back in the UK this month.

McFarland has the 6 shirt locked down as well,
I would say maybe they're gonna lose Binny post RWC but he signed a contract extension last season (maybe that was just a one year extension though?)
