England 2024/25

The positive thing is he is actually looking at good coaches and bringing them in to the A / Senior Set up. Thats a big step forward, especially the reintroduction of the A team.

I hope not, because he looks way better at 12 than 13, but probably right as we've signed that rubbish South African 12 so imagine RMW will be at 13 whenever RdP has to shift to 10 next season - we'd have signed a 13 otherwise as our stocks there are pretty slim
Unless something happens you'll have Doherty back from us. Fair to say he's developed a fair bit thanks to the game time he wouldn't have had otherwise. He was brilliant v Bath

My guess is he signs with you permanently - he has a break clause at the end of this season (signed a 1yr with optional 1yr)
If Falcons have secured funding for next year (as you mentioned elsewhere) I'd imagine he'd rather be starting for you than sitting on the bench/playing in the Prem Cup for us (because RdP is one of the first names on the teamsheet and is first choice 13)

Lions then rest then AIs then rest - barely going to see top players this side of Christmas
And they want next season to the first of the franchise's! The only way they going to generate more interest is focus on the names that play international rugby.

With how Steward has developed this season under Cheika I really really wish Tigers would try him at 12. His carrying and awareness has been so much better he just doesn't have the raw top end speed that is needed at the top International level (Like against the top 5 teams)

Although Tigers have no one for 15 really without him

Whats the crack with that young academy lad England U20 - Pearson. I know hes not ready for prem, but he impressed me in the England side.

Besides isnt Woodward the man gonig forward at 12?

Pearson looked great in the prem cup, suspect he may take Brown's spot next season.
Yeah Woodward is the main man, it's more just what if for me now. Steward is building a good linkage with Radwan and OHC at the back anyway

The other thing is you would hope Radwan and OHCs pace will cover Stewards lack of...in some sort of defensive management.

Where does Tom Willis fair? He was a powehouse on the weekend. Surely he HAS to be Englands 8 going forward especially on the summer tour.

Willis should be our first choice 8. I think he just needs a couple of statement performances for England to really lock it down.

He's been good so far but hasn't yet shone to the same degree he has with Saracens. A challenging tour in Argentina would be a great place to lay down that marker.

I presume they going to add Ben Curry to the central contract list joining Tom?
You'd hope so, but they already did some weird **** with CCs

Edit: central contracts, not CCS

Right...bit of fun time...its not actually that easy. SB and his team definately have a few big decisions to make.
England starting lineup for first match v Argentina

1 Baxter
2 George
3 Heyes
4 Coles
5 Arthur
6 CCS
7 Ben Curry
8 Tom Willis

9 JVP
10 Fin Smith (I actually think Marcus and Ford will go with the lions)
11 Murley
12 Dingwall
13 Beard
14 Roebuck
15 Furbank

16 (Iyogun / Haffar)
17 Dan
18 (Fasogabon / Fordjour)
19 Lockett
20 (Kenningham / Pollock)
21 Porter
22 Atkinson
23 Daly

That bench is a disaster and I don't know how you'd improve it bar Rodd or Obano at 17.

No way Fasogbon should be being put on the same level as Asher
Pollock will 100% be ahead of Kenningham, he's going to be closer to a starter than a coin-flip-bench-spot

Starters are probably what SB will go with - though I wouldn't be surprised to see Daly at 13
Rodd will likely be at 17 as he trained with the senior side in the 6N - might even start, he's in the best form of any of those atm
Same with Quirke in the 21 shirt, he was inline to play in the 6N so will probably be there - though his form since return hasn't been the best, but that's never stopped England calling him up before

Hoping for Langdon at 16 (or 2) but not holding my breath

They'll probably have Hill (or CCS) covering lock instead of Lockett
