England 2024/25

Arundell has been playing top level rugby and is eligible so I'm all in for him to get a shot in a training squad, I can't think of anyone's place he's taking? Who isn't in the prem final obv.

Let SB get a look at him. He and Quirke are similar in the fact they had all for form and highlight reel stuff but just for various reasons dropped off. The raw talent is there so when there's a chance to give them a shot to step up like an England XVs game from the bench I don't really mind especially with so many lions away.

Seen PBBs name alot but the guy is 2 seasons away at least IMO, great when he gets the ball but can be quiet, strong defender and at defensive reads but has struggled with positioning and whilst much improved his arial game needs work. Him an IFW will both push. I hope IFW is ready and fit given his long lay off but honestly a great talent and if he is ready, then again in a XVs game give him a chance.

I'd go
Baxter Dan Fasogbon
Itoje Coles
CCS Willis BCurry
Quirke Ford
Atkinson Dingwall
IFW Steward Roebuck

Langdon
Iyogun/Rodd
Davidson(not sure who we have here to cover.)
Clarke
Kenningham
Porter
Slade
Arundell

Dan needs gametime and a chance same as Langdon but he's ahead in the England set up.

Fasogbon give him a shot in a nothing game we dont have huge THP reserves
Slade emergency 10

Itoje Coles has no 'TH lock' so CCS and Willis in the back line add some power and don't lack Balance in that Back row. Kenningham from the bench he's earned a shot.

Quirke is most likely of the props in camp and needs a chance in a XV game to show he's worth keeping.

Slade to cover 10 12 13.

IFW needs gametime and is rather start him and take him off when needed as game fitness could be an issue.

Arundell why not, maybe comes of for Steward if IFW going well but raw talent and playing at a good level in France but not set the world on fire. Needs to prove himself. Same boat as Quite in the too talented to ignore, too many people playing better than them to be considered for a proper game.

Zero Bath/Tigers players in the team. Let them rest/prepare for the bigger games.

Yeah PBB is way off for now, he'll get his chance. I'd leave IFW at home for the summer as well so he can recover properly. We have bigger problems than wingers (literally and figuratively e.g. locks) to solve

Arundell has been playing top level rugby
In the grand scheme of things, but I saw on Reddit that his 5 month layoff wasn't actually injury he was just dropped - Racing put him in their 7s side instead and then dropped him from that too
His run out last week was because it was the final game of the season

Nothing will convince me he's earned his place over Elliot tbh - both play the same position, but one has been in top form and playing consistently

I'm sure he'll go well if given a chance, especially as it's likely France XV and USA that he's most likely to feature, but still think it stinks

Moving abroad and being unavailable for a while always adds an artificial shine to players. Arundell is just the latest to benefit from that.

Seems like we're kind of assuming he's in as a winger though. He hasn't played a lot at fullback for Racing, but that's where he played virtually all his rugby for Irish. In a squad with only 1 specialist 15, I don't hate him being included. I'd prefer him (as a 15) ahead of others who could have been called up like Hodge.

I'm not sure, even as a certified Hodge Hater they're basically the same in terms of strengths and weaknesses but at least Hodge plays 15 - Arundell has played there 3 times since LI went under and is firmly behind Sam James who is (as much as I love him) a squad level centre

Everyone is better when they aren't actually playing

A few there from last year I didn't think would still be eligible.

Kpoku, Burrows, Sela, Coen and James the obvious ones.

But Timmins has impressed me as one who has the toughness and skills that could really push on. I look forward to seeing how he goes.

The Telegraph are suggesting he might retire from playing as early as the summer of 2027 to become a full time Saries coach. No point bringing him back if not playing by the World Cup.

They also saying he is not known as someone who is good on the bench or in a wider squad compared to George Ford.

Farrell in the England squad would be such a step backwards. Hasn't been good enough for ages and would block actual future prospects getting a chance.
