22-10 to the Chiefs. What can I say? A dream start. I dont think Ive stopped chanting the Tomahawk for 12 hours and I kept hearing it out around the town late into the night. Gloucester seemed to be expecting a walkover and it wasn't. To be fair to Nicky Robinson Sandy Park is a tricky place for kicking with the westerly wind blowing unless your used to it. Its a good win but I'm not getting carried away, Exeter are still very much the underdogs and I expect next week (Welford road) to be at least a 20 point defeat. Thats not the point tho, survival is the aim of the game, and we didnt pander to boring rugby, without a couple of silly errors there were two more easy Chiefs tries in there.

After 14 years of dreaming a group of us were standing around pinching each other, actually pinching each other, having started watching as 8 year old kids seeing a club that started then with this dream with and a die hard of 200 odd fans fill a 10,000 seat stadium beating Gloucester. I am so proud of my club tonight.

From the Telegraph

"The Premiership is spiteful to its newcomer, denying them the same financial advantages as the rest of the league, and preventing them from building a squad owing to the lateness that promotion is confirmed.

That was what made Exeter’s victory that bit more special. It was one in the eye for the authorities who want to keep their doors shut and their old boys’ club cosy. Bet they are all over Exeter now."

Can we take many more scalps? Only time will tell...

Quite Happy to see them performing well. Let's see what the underdogs can do!!!

I'm delighted for Exeter. Gareth Steenson is a boring player since he kicks nigh on everything and sits very deep in the pocket but by Christ that bloke is lethal with his place kicking. Having him in the team should guarantee at least 15 points per game.

Given the Chiefs represent a mini Irish colony (with Steenson, Hayes, Gannon, Murphy and Grace all contracted) I'll be cheering them on in the Premiership this season.

As said, I'm glad to see them do well- They seem to be everyone's second-favourite club now, and hopefully they'll pull it off at Welford Road. Highly doubt it, but I may be there (My mate who's a big Tigers fan has got an extra ticket to a number of Tigers games down to his dad working for a sponser, and is looking to take me along to see the Scarlets humiliated.) and would love to see an upset.

I'd also love to see it but I doubt it. I do think the Chiefs will pick up a lot of bonus points on the road due to their excellent goal kicking. It wouldn't surprise me if they get within 7 points of Leicester.

I reckon that they'll stay up and Newcastle will go down. Good performance insofar as one can hear on the radio.

I've seen Chiefs play a few times and they have been a consistent second tier unit for a while now. Good to see them doing alright in the Premiership so far, would be nice to see Albion/Cornish Pirates in a similar position in a few years time maybe. Their rugby is nothing thrilling (Albion-Chiefs games were always horrendously dire) but they always had a fit squad and as the underdog they're pretty much everyone's second team at the moment.
