Just finished the first half. Absolute horror show for beard. Jesus. It’s actually really, really bad when you just watch him and take notes. 🤣

He was poor as usual imo. Maybe slightly less **** than he can be, but I still didn't see him do much, maybe a nice tip on pass or two.

In the second half though, he made 3 bad errors on the bounce to allow Fiji back into the game. First he butchered the restart after we kicked the 3 points that Fiji scored from, then he knocked the ball on after LRZ had done well to tap the ball back from a box kick, and finally he gave away a penalty for a neck roll when we were playing with pen advantage in Fiji's 22.

On another day, that would have been terminal for us, luckily though we battled well in the final quarter and pulled away again.

Carter in comparison had an excellent game I thought. He was the main source of lineout ball, he carried well at times, and tackled well.

We really do need to move on from Beard!

Day off today so thought I re watch the wales game. This is Beards first contribution after 1 min

I havnt re watched so its hard to comment, but i would say, id be pretty confident that every player in red would create quite a fascinating low light reel, espexially in that first half.

The stats are just wild, defenders beaten, carrying metres, offloads, missed tackles, if you were to only see the stats and not the scoreline i dont think anyone would have thought Wales had won.

Off the top of my head, Lake was bumped a few times, Morgan sat down and then rounded wothout getting a finger on the attacker, Edwards was folded, Hawkins and James made to look like statues, LRZ was atrocious defending...

He was also offside on our line in the second half which lost us possession again. I think he was our most ill disciplined player on Saturday.

What you say is true but the difference between Morgan, Lake etc is that they are actually really good rugby players. Beard is not.

It’s also the manner of which you do something. I’m not going to hold anyone’s feet over the fire for missing a tackle but that attempted tackle from Beard in the first min, I don’t even want to say embarrassing or pathetic as it doesn’t do it justice. It’s actually disgusting. Even if he had hit him he wouldn’t have moved him at all and that sums him up. The weakest 6,8 19stone man in the world.

To be fair he might’ve been trying to block the offload but still hilarious nonetheless. What an athlete.

Look im not saying he was good, im 6'5 ish and nearly 18 stone and i shift ok for a big boy, watching myself on video is depressing as i look so unathletic too, and ive played with a good friend whos 6'11 who was a superb player but looked like a drunk girraffe, id be the last person to commebt on perceived athleticism, us big boys arent coordinated and our limbs dont bend much.

Id be interested to see his stats, tackles made, times off the deck, rucks hit, metres covered etc... i bet its far more than you would expect.

Like i said, if i was to select any player of your choosing, and hyper focus on them i could create a really fun low light reel.

The point is though it’s not just this game. And also, the apparent perception of his performance was that he was magnificent. This is what I can’t get my head around. I said at the time it’s no coincidence that we saw a massive upturn in performances and results when we dropped Beard.

I agree he’s a big man and it’s harder for them to look athletic and what have you and you can say the same about Daf (who I love) but Daf can actually put it about.

Look, at this point I have absolutely zero issue with Beard. It’s not his fault he’s getting picked and smoke blown up his arse. I’m sure he’s a lovely bloke and I don’t think any pro athlete goes out and doesn’t try and do their best and I’m sure Beard does too but he needs to be cut loose.
