Dear rugby family,

We are currently organising a fundraising match for the 25th October in Cardigan, west Wales, plus an auction to raise money for our friend, Dylan Rees, who suffered a terrible brain injury last year playing the game he loves. He is now out of a coma, and starting on the very long and challenging road to recovery. The money for this event raised will go towards helping him remain as comfortable as possible during this process, and to support his family in supporting him. The match will feature friends and team-mates of Dylans versus a Cardigan RFC Life Presidents Select XV. It will be attended by legends of the game such as JPR Wiliams, Brynmor Williams, Tommy David and Tom Shanklin, among others. The main fundraising event is of course the auction, which is currently running in the form of a silent auction on Facebook, and will continue on the night.

Perhaps you are wondering what does it have to do with me? Well, we are all a family of rugby players and supporters, and it at these times that we need to come together to help one of our own. So, how can you help?

You can visit our auction page and take a look at some of the (truly) amazing items we have. They range from holidays to art, unique animation figures to rare rugby memorabilia, and from hard to find match tickets to our star item - a 1973 Barbarians vs New Zealand shirt, signed by the super seven who scored arguably the finest try in rugby history - Phil Bennett, Tommy David, John Dawes, Gareth Edwards, John Pullin, Derek Quinnell & JPR Williams. What you see there is just the tip of the iceberg - we have so many amazing items we can't possibly list them all before the night!

And once you have visited, you can like, share, bid, share again, and help raise our profile and our total! And then you can clear the 25th of October and come to Cardigan, meet legends of Welsh rugby, support the players, and have a great night in aid of truly great man. Please take a look at these articles to give you more of idea of what we are doing and who we are doing it for.

We hope very much that you can help us out, and thank you for reading.

Very kind regrads,

The Dylan Rees Rugby Fund
