Gloucester v Bath

Well Gloucester start their campaign at home to local rivals Bath, this is bound to be a entertaining game, as they usually are...

Bath will be hoping to improve massively on last year, with Gloucester really breeding a team ready to challenge the likes of Sale, Wasps and Leicester.

I am gonna say Bath by less than 12, but it is sure to be a tight affair.

Disagree with that, it will be a close game, we have had a couple of good results at Gloucester, but It will be tight, very tight...

Bath do know how to use their backs without Ashton, yes Ashton did good things with Bath, but we now have Meehan as our Head Coach, and over the pre-season we performed well, in some cases very well, our backs linked well with the forwards...

Based on what? Meehan hasn't even had a competitive game in charge yet. The guy was backs coach at Stade for four years, and you could hardly call their backline play boring and pedestrian.

It's only a shame that Fuimaono hasn't shaken off his knock for this weekend. The guy is a star in the making.

Going to Kingsholme on the first day of the season is always a tough challenge, and this year, Gloucester are a force to be reckoned with, they had a very good season last year, and have a strong squad which will help them improve on that this year...
Bath are going through a transitional stage not really having a head coach that lasted all season, it was a major blow for them losing Ashton to the national setup, but Meehan looks like he will continue the work that Ashton started....
This game was never going to be cut and dry for either side as local pride was up for stake, but Gloucester held off a strong challenge by Bath to secure the win.
Gloucester looked to be sailing towards an easy win after tries from Jack Adams and Olly Morgan, they put Gloucester to 24 - 11 lead after 57 mins.
Bath fought back with 2 tries from Danny Grewcock his second coming 11 minutes from the end and an Olly Barkley penalty which gave Bath the hope of gaining victory, but they were unable get another score to gain victory...
It was a shame to see Balshaw limp off on his debut after 40 minutes, his right ankle was heavly strapped which is never a good sign...
