What does everyone think of rugby mits?

I've started experimenting this season by wearing a pair of Kooga ones, and they have led me to this conclusion:
If you can catch then they will help improve your basic grip, however if you can't catch in the first place then they won't help you at all.

What does anyone else think? Are they worth the effort?

I wear them its just like SaintsFan_Webby said if you can catch they help you a little bit, they also help well me anyway grab the ball better (when its on the ground) but mainly just have them to look good and keep my hands warm on a cold day

For me,their effect is merely placebo..like my good old they'll-never-get-rid-of-my-tackles rabbit foot

Cold day -- I can understand.

But look good? Are you the only female forum member?

I want to know whether they help if the ball is wet. That's really annoying.

They do look good though. I scored the other day and strutted my stuff back along the touchline with loads of girls I knew watching

That's the proper wingers' mentality

Well. I can catch a wet ball. Just cause it's wet it'll be a little bit harder.

If you have good hands then they should help you in the wet, otherwise you might as well not bother.

I got them really cheap, found them in a sale for £4.50

My gloves are Rugbytech and they cost me $30 i first brought a pair of Canterbury ones that cost $40 i took them to training and the grip started to come off so i took them back and got my Rugbytech gloves and they are really good quality

I only got them because they were cheap, I wouldn't have bothered otherwise.

I was trying to be flash because only a couple of people had them at my school, they were worth it though IMO

Well they've kept my hands warm so far this year if nothing else. And an interception pass I took while playing the other day did stick very well.
