Greatest Rugby Moment

The best moment for me is the Italy's victory at Murrayfield.....i was here!

...and The first victory in the 6 nations.....Flaminio 2000 :p

Greatest ever rugby moments for me must be a piece of great skill, but in the context of great pressure/drama, preferrably as underdogs.

for me that would be either Stransky's drop, or Guscott's effort for the Lions in '97.

Edwards' try for the baa baas could be considered. Not important, no pressure, but sublime skill and sheer love of the game.

when wales win the world cup by a hook try.... ahhh

Gareth edwards BABA try for me everytime
Worst was wales losing to italy in 2003 ..that was an all time low

probably not the best, but what an upset it was. france beating new zealand in the 1999 wc semi final...

yup must agree wit MunsterMan, ireland ripping england apart in croker, i ws dare nd all so it stands out more 4 me!!

That was a fantastic day. And it was soooo much more than rugby that made it great. The fans reactions to the anthems, the players reaction to the Irish anthem, the sounds of St. Patrick chasing culchies out of Ireland, Horgan catching a cross field kick for a try, arms in the air like a true Gaa-er, and of course this picture.

No matter how much of a prat I think Bono is, it really was a beautiful day.

my best was 99 semi against NZ ... dominici ....
worst was probabliy the match after against Aus ... so as 2003 semi. i agree with you, loosing against ROAST BEEFS is never agreable, specially for french :)
[/b]

Agree with with him, concerning the semi-final 1999 between NZ and France. 2 drop goals of Lamaison french flyhalf.
I desagree concerning English people...

Me too for Dominici's Try in 1999
This try is very FANTASTIC, if he could do that an other time in WC 07 final against NZ!!!
Let's Dream! :D :D

The Boks winning the WC in '95.

The Bulls winning the S14 in '07. :bana:

France beating the All Blacks in the '99 WC Semis.

Jannie de Beer putting over 5 dropgoals against England in the '99 WC.

all of them, except for the second one... hehe

The 1995 worldcup final when SA beat Australia with a dropgoal in exstra time! [/b]

Were they wearing night camouflage  ?
And all this time people blamed poor Suzie..

Fir me being a young Scot, i have to say, winning the 2005 Calcutta Cups was one of the greatest Rugby Moments i know of anyway.

Well, for me it has to be South Africa winning the RWC95. I remember nearly crapping myself when Joel Stransky slotted that famous dropgoal, and for me, that was the moment when New Zealand knew they were done.

The absolute number one moment for me was Brian O'Driscoll weaving through the Wallaby defense in Brisbane for his sensational try during the 1st Lions Test in 2001. I've never been so delirious and ****** at that time in the morning!!!

Wilko's drop goal is a close second.

Lomus' try against Australia in the dying minutes of the last game in the 2000 Bledisloe test series (sometimes referred to as the best test ever played.)

Stole the game from the Aussie in spectacular style. Was the start of the All Black resurgence after the shocking performances of 98 and 99.

as a scot it has to be the 1990 Gram slam decider at murrayfield. that game still makes me extremley proud to be scottish, and it was a year before i was born!

actually, come to think of it, ive actually seen very litle of the game (lack of footage avalible) but FoS at the start is on youtube - without a doubt the most passionate and intimidating rendition ever heard.

and in recent memory, 2006 6N against France and England was pretty good.

worst - without a doubt the first 7 minutes of Scotland Italy in this years 6N, the only time ive ever felt like crying watching a rugby match. (but Ire-Eng at croker cheered me up :D)

I almost cried as an 11 year old, seeing Toutai Kefu crossing for the try that ensured John Eales retired with a win! It was a tremendous drive to the line!
